In order to provoke young entrepreneurs’ passion for starting up new business, Saint-Gobain China decided to hold an Innovation and Entrepreneurship competition from May to September 2017. Shortlisted competitors will be partly covered by travel allowances and have the chance to discuss their plans with Saint-Gobain management team and also our NOVA team who focus on looking for innovative projects outside the group and participate in Saint-Gobain global innovation competition to raise possible funds and public awareness.
Participants:
- Undergraduates, graduates and MBA graduates, or anyone who graduated within 5 years
- Entrepreneurs: Before round A of venture capital investment
- Individuals or teams who have good ideas and business plans
Requirements:
- All Business plans, ideas, techniques etc. submitted for this competition should be related to Saint-Gobain main business (automotive and building glazing, abrasives, ceramic materials, refractories, high-performance plastics, gypsum, industrial mortars and ductile cast iron pipes)
- The ideal proposal could also be related to :
- New material(architecture or industrial related), new technology, sustainability and efficiency improvement, lower cost,
- Sensor & IoT, glazing glass(Light dimming, clear/dark glazing, crack detection)
- New channel or business model, digitalization etc.

Timeline:
- Phase 1: Work submission: now – 5 September
- Phase 2: First selection: 6 September – 15 October
- Phase 3: Final presentation: 23 October
- Phase 4: Result announcement: 3 November
A confidentiality agreement will be signed between Saint-Gobain China and each participant or team.
