On September 27, 2016, Saint-Gobain and China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM) signed in Beijing a joint-venture agreement for the common development of the market of gypsum cornices in China.
The Group Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain Pierre-André de Chalendar as well as the General Delegate in Asia-Pacific, Javier Gimeno, attended the signature ceremony together with Song Zhiping, Chairman of CNBM.
The first production site of the joint-venture will be based in the Green Construction Materials Development Zone of Changzhou where Saint-Gobain inaugurated 6 months ago its first Multi-comfort House in China.
As the world leader in the habitat and construction markets, Saint-Gobain has been present in China since more than 30 years. Today the Group is operating 35 plants all across the country and employs more than 9000 people here. The total sales revenue in 2015 in China reached 1.4 billion euros.
