On April 24, Mr. Yang Chao (Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commerce Committee) and 10 officers from Shanghai government visited Saint-Gobain R&D Shanghai (SGRS), to understand Saint-Gobain innovation activities and how to participate in the innovation ecosystem construction in Shanghai for multi-national companies. Mason Zhang (Senior R&D manager, Abrasives) introduced Saint-Gobain Group and SGRS to the guests, expressed appreciation to Shanghai and Minhang governments for their strong supports to SGRS continuously, and hoped Shanghai government would give more policy support to attract talents to work in Shanghai. A few more topics were discussed frankly by two teams. Mr. Yang had high interest on Saint-Gobain’s cooperation with Chinese local universities and with start-ups, as well as Saint-Gobain Intrapreneurship Program. He took the opportunity to invite Saint-Gobain to participate one R&D forum in Shanghai to share our innovation experience which would help to improve our innovation reputation and influence. The government officers also visited some labs, new innovative abrasives products were introduced. The world-leading performance new products developed by young Chinese team impressed visitors deeply, Mr. Yang highly appreciated Saint-Gobain’s innovation system and our talent development scheme.
